The IFMS project, which went live from 1st April 2014, is a web-based application
(www.wbifms.gov.in) implemented by the Finance Department of GoWB with the goal
to ensure better fiscal management and efficient financial operations of the Government.
This project integrates financial activities of all the Departments, Offices, Directorates,
District and Field Offices, Treasuries / Pay & Accounts Offices (PAO), Local Bodies
/ Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of
the GoWB. There is a citizen centricity aspect to this project also through electronic
payments which have enabled direct credit to respective bank accounts of beneficiaries,
both internal and external, thereby making it a pan-State coverage. This is a Central
Mission Mode Project (CMMP) implemented by the State Government and partially financed
by the Government of India.
